The Family and the Church

There’s a sense in which how the physical family should relate to one another reflects how the church should as well.  It is true that the language of church “family” is sometimes overplayed and they are often as dysfunctional as natural families so as to reflect that image poorly.  Still, the church should model what family should be.  That’s not the thrust of 1 Tim. 5:1-8, but it undergirds it as we'll see.
